I woke up this morning with one of my favorite hymns, God Will Take Care of You, running through my mind. The second verse especially goes along with something that I realized last night, as I pondered and worried over the state of more and more arrogant, open rebellion against God that the world is in that just makes me want to go hide somewhere – even though I know I can’t do that. All of a sudden I realized that the four walls of my pleasant little home or a mountain hideaway that I dream of are not my safe haven – they are not my protection from the evil that is at work in the world and upon my own heart at times. No, my protection comes from a much more trustworthy Source – God is my safe haven. He is my Rock, my Fortress, my Deliverer, my God, my Mountain where I seek refuge, as David so beautifully put it in Psalm 18. God will take care of me. What a comforting truth!
Be not dismayed whate’er betide,
God will take care of you;
Beneath His wings of love abide,
God will take care of you.
Refrain:
God will take care of you,
Through every day, o’er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.
Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
God will take care of you;
When dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you.
All you may need He will provide,
God will take care of you;
Nothing you ask will be denied,
God will take care of you.
No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you;
Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
God will take care of you.

Beautifully put! Someone has said that “safety does not consist in the absence of danger, but in the presence of God.”
