Easter Outfit Update

April 4, 2012 by Diana Nesbitt 3 Comments

I figured I’d better get the Easter outfit saga continued before Easter came and went. ๐Ÿ˜› Shortly after the first post, we went to Joann Fabrics. Before we went in, I prayed and told the Lord that if there was nothing in there for my outfit I would be okay with it. I meant it, but didn’t reallyyyy expect to have to live up to it. ๐Ÿ˜› I went in and looked at the pattern books for the suit patterns I had found online, and I was surprised when I couldn’t find either. The patterns just weren’t there – this had never happened before. And wouldn’t you know, I hadn’t written down the pattern numbers at home, assuming that I would just look in the Simplicity book and find them at the store. I was puzzled. I looked through every page in the book that those patterns could possibly have been on and came up empty. I couldn’t figure it out and I was a little disappointed, but on the other hand, I wouldn’t have been able to pick out everything I needed (or I would have been very rushed) since we were tight on time that day.

After a little while we made it back to Joann’s. The Simplicity patterns weren’t going to be on sale that day so I chose ย a dress pattern with 3/4 length sleeves that I already had and brought it with me. Mom helped me narrow down my fabric choices and I ended up choosing a pale green linen-look fabric and some pretty shell beads to make a “statement” necklace to go with it.

So, what pattern did I choose? Well, up until a few minutes ago, I was going to show you. Buuuut, it just occurred to me that I could be an imp and make you wait to see the pattern until the dress is finished. I rather like the idea of being an imp, so you’re just going to have to stare at this lovely black question mark until after Easter. ๐Ÿ˜€

It doesn’t take that long to sew a dress if I have a good chunk of time. If I didn’t have 15 million other things to do before Sunday, I wouldn’t be worried at all about getting it done. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Happy Easter to you, too!
